Who we are

Xenia Hodza warren art studio school

Xenia Hodza, Artist in Residence

was born in Manhattan at the end of 1962. It was a good start.

She studied life drawing and painting at the Art Students League of New York then earned a BA in Art history at Purchase College and an MFA in painting from Western Connecticut State University. Ms. Hodza is presently pursuing a PhD in Philosophy, Theory, and Critique of Visual Art at IDSVA in Portland, Maine.

Her quest is to always find that singularly beautiful line in the ugliest of things.

Plein Air Exhibition in Litchfield, CT, Garret Neuf's first home

Garret Neuf Studio Mission

To continue becoming a site where artist-philosopher souls get a little solace from themselves by sharing meaningful, creative time with others.  A place in which the serious work that art is can be done without apology. Through hikes to secret places of astounding natural beauty, plein air painting, constructive critiques, contemplation, and camaraderie, no artist will be lost.
